در حوالی سالهای 1850 میلادی قرارداد دوستی بین ناصرالدین شاه و رئیس جمهور آمریکا امضا شد. ابتدای قرارداد را در زیر می آورم، فقط آن بخشی که عناوین دو طرف قرارداد را ذکر می کند.

متن فارسی اش را ندارم، هر چند متن انگلیسی بیشتر مسخره بودنِ عناوین شاه را به رخ می‌کشد.

 The president of the United States of North America, and his Majesty as exalted as the Planet Saturn; the Sovereign to whom the Sun serves as a standard; whose splendor and magnificence are equal to that of the Skies; the Sublime Sovereign, the Monarch whose armies are as numerous as the Stars; whose greatness calls to mind that of Jenshid; whose magnificence equals that of Darius; the Heir of the Crown and the Throne of the Kyaniana; the Sublime Emperor of all Persia, being both equally and sincerely desirous of establishing relations to Friendship,  etc. etc. ect

(آنچه که مرا به یاد این نامه انداخت خبری بود در سایتهای ایران که زنانِ درآستانۀ زایمان روزِ قبل از 7/7/97 صف کشیده‌اند برای زایمان در این روز چرا که می‌خواهند تاریخ تولد بچه‌شان منحصر به فرد باشد. پُز دادن مهم است، برای شاه و مردم!)
